About Us: Mathematics Department

Welcome to the Dover Public Schools Mathematics Department. Our mission is to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that enables students to excel in mathematics by developing critical analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Our Mission We aim to foster a deep interest and enthusiasm for mathematics through our comprehensive core content courses and diverse elective offerings. Utilizing the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Mathematics, our curriculum is designed to build a robust understanding of mathematical concepts over time. These standards empower our educators to create engaging and challenging learning experiences that spark students' curiosity and prepare them for future academic and professional endeavors in a global and technology-driven society.

Our Goals

Recent Successes and Projects

  • Dover High School offers three Dual Enrollment courses in partnership with William Paterson University and County College of Morris, enhancing our curriculum with advanced collegiate opportunities.
  • We proudly celebrated the induction of our first students into Mu Alpha Theta, the prestigious Mathematics Honor Society, recognizing their excellence in mathematics.

Special Initiatives and Upcoming Events

  • In collaboration with the Science Department, we are excited to organize our first district-wide Elementary STEM night this fall, aiming to inspire younger students with the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
