Dover Middle School is a member of the Greater Morris County Junior Schools Coaches Association (GMCJSCA), an athletic league comprising middle schools from Morris County and several surrounding counties.

The GMCJSCA sponsors end-of-season tournaments and championship events for each sport, with all member schools eligible to participate. Dover Middle School athletic teams hold open tryouts for all interested seventh- and eighth-grade students.

Sixth-grade students are eligible to participate in cross-country, wrestling, baseball, softball, and track and field.
